Wintering: Coming Home

Lay down what feels too heavy right now, giving it the time & space to prepare for growth

Course Summary

Though I am preparing this workshop in Autumn, Wintering is something we can engage in at any time.  It is the opportunity to withdraw from engaging with the busy-ness of the world for a while, whether that is for a period of months (perhaps literally over the winter), days, or even overnight.  It is when we consciously lay down all the thoughts we carry around with us, the choices we have to make, the knarly issues that we can't seem to solve, the questions we struggle to find answers to...

... and let them rest.

This course is made up of two workshops.  In the first, I will take you through the process of coming home, to that still space within that holds our being, and to lay down whatever you have been carrying that feels as though it has been taking up too much space, that is not giving you the answers you are longing for, or perhaps simply feels too heavy.  You will be guided to lay it down in that fertile space within, where you will leave it to rest, to be held for a time, in the warmth of your being.  In the same way that seeds or bulbs that are planted in the Autumn go through a period of dormancy as they prepare to absorb the nutrients in the soil that holds them. and to grow, you will be guided to let go of whatever you have chosen to lay down, and to enter a state of 'not knowing'.

You will be invited to hold space for what will eventually emerge from this process, and let it be until the time comes for you to return to your drawing and open to what emerges in the second workshop.  This may involve some tension, as during the first workshop you will be guided to leave space in your drawing.  This may feel good, and it is also possible that you will feel a pull to fill the space... there are times when it is not easy to simply let things be.  This is part of the art of wintering:  whether you leave your drawing for a day, a week, a month or longer, it can be interesting to notice what happens while you maintain the state of not knowing what will emerge.

  - Live workshop 1 will be on Sunday 5 October, 2pm UK time

  - Live workshop 2 will be on Sunday 12 October, 2pm UK time

I hope very much that you enjoy the process and find is as valuable as I have.  Please do get in touch if you have any questions.
